Homework reminders for next class

ENGLISH 9:
At the beginning of the next class, I'll check in with you to see if you've met your Independent Reading goal for the first full week.  Start getting in the habit of finding time during your day to work on your IR book--in the morning before your first class, during the interim, in study hall, or in the second half of your lunch period.

HONORS BRITISH LIT:
Finish Beowulf for next time.  Check out Wiglaf's funeral speech in the last section.  Ultimately, what are supposed to feel about Beowulf the hero: admiration, disappointment, disgust? Is this poem trying to tell us something about the limits of this kind of mythical heroism?
Keep up with your IR reading for the week!
